XAVIER COLLEGE PREPARATORY BOARD ELECTS THREE

The Xavier College Preparatory Board of Trustees recently elected three new Trustees, Tim DeMore, Shelley Kuhle and David Larcher, according to Board President Dan Grubb, President of Dan Grubb Ford, L.L.C.

Tim DeMore is the owner and President of Arizona Drywall Co., Inc. and Contractors Wholesale Supply. Over the last 32 years, he has been a member of numerous professional construction associations. Mr. DeMore is extremely supportive of the Catholic community and has served on both parish councils and school boards, taught classes for the engaged and chaired many fundraising events. He and his wife Debbie, a Xavier alumna, have five daughters, four of whom have graduated from Xavier and Catholic colleges. Breanne, the DeMore’s youngest, is a member of Xavier’s Class of 2009.

Shelley Kuhle, a community leader, philanthropist, and mother of four, champions education and children’s issues in Arizona and serves as President of the Kuhle Family Foundation. Over the past 22 years, Mrs. Kuhle has supported many Valley charities including the Phoenix Public Library, Board of Visitors, HomeBase Youth Services, St. Mary’s Food Bank, Fresh Start Women’s Foundation, the Heard Museum, the Phoenix Heart Ball, United Way, Trends Charitable Fund and Crisis Nursery. She and her husband, Rick, have four children. Their daughters, Kristina and Kimberlee, are in Xavier’s Class of 2010 and 2011 respectively.

David Larcher is a founding principal of Vestar Development Co. and is responsible for development activities in Arizona and San Diego County, CA. He has been involved with the development of over 14 million square feet of shopping centers during his tenure at Vestar, and is responsible for some of the most dynamic and popular retail developments in the southwest. Mr. Larcher is a graduate of Arizona State University and is actively involved with the International Council of Shopping Centers, Urban Land Institute and several metropolitan Phoenix charitable organizations. He is on the Board of the Greater Scottsdale Boys & Girls Club and the Center for Habilitation. He and his wife, Lori, are parents of Alexis, who is a member of Xavier’s Class of 2011.

“The Board is extremely excited about its new Trustees,” said Mr. Dan Grubb, Board President. “These three individuals have a history of leadership and stewardship in the Valley.”

Sister Joan Fitzgerald, Principal of Xavier, agrees. “The Xavier community is grateful for the dedication and leadership that our Board members provide,” she said. “They are part of the foundation that makes it possible for Xavier to fulfill its Catholic mission.”

The Xavier College Preparatory Board of Trustees is responsible for the school’s institutional advancement and strategic vision. The Board is led by Dan Grubb and Vice President Tom Roberts, who is President and Chief Executive Officer of Opus West Corporation. Other Trustees are Mr. Bill Bidwill, Jr.; Dr. Carol Muth Crockett; Dr. Art DeCabooter; Mr. Rich Dozer; Sister Joan Fitzgerald, BVM; Mrs. Kenda Gonzales; Mr. John Graham; Mr. Pat McGroder; Deacon John Montalvo III; Mr. Earl Petznick, Jr.; Mr. Bill Post; Mr. Steve Robson; Mrs. Mary Ann Maloney Sheely and Sister Lynn Winsor, BVM.

Located at 4710 N. Fifth St. in north central Phoenix, Xavier is twice recognized as a U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon School of Excellence and as a national “Top 20 in Academics” in 2005 and 2006 by the Catholic High School Honor Roll. The Arizona Interscholastic Association awarded Xavier its prestigious Blue Cup Award (2006) for excellence in scholastics, athletics and activities. All Xavier graduates attend post-secondary institutions; members of the Class of 2007 were accepted at 181 colleges and universities.
